Sora From Kingdom Hearts Is Japan’s Number One Choice for A New Smash Bros. DLC By Far

Creative team of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate announced that they are thinking of featuring Sora from Disney/Square Enix series Kingdom Hearts into the battle as a new DLC character.

But before they could even begin to negotiate with Disney for the collaboration, Disney has put stop to the talks. Fans are disappointed as it is nearly impossible to witness the title hero Sora fight off with Smash Bros. Characters like Kirby, Mario, Link, and others.

Recently a poll was held by Japan’s Inside-Games on who the fans wanted to be featured in upcoming DLC packs for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and evidently, Sora From Kingdom Hearts Is Japan’s Number One Choice for A New Smash Bros. DLC By Far.

The Japanese fans have had a strong opinion for choosing their number one pick. Dante from Devil May Cry came in second place giving Sora a run for its money. At the foot of the list is Goku from the Dragon Ball franchise and Geno from Super Mario RPG.

Several other power-packed games were featured in the poll other than these four games.

The result of the poll as follows:

  1. Sora from Kingdom Hearts
  2. Dante from Devil May Cry
  3. Hunter from Monster Hunter
  4. Red from Xenoblade Chronicles 2
  5. 2B from Nior Automata
  6. Crash Bandicoot from Crash Bandicoot
  7. Waddle Dee/Bandana Waddle Dee from Kirby
  8. Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII
  9. Arle from Puyo Puyo
  10. Steve from Minecraft
  11. Saver from Fate
  12. Kirito from Sword Art Online
  13. Hakurei Reimu from Touhou Project
  14. Goku from Dragon Ball
  15. Geno from Super Mario RPG

Sora was clearly the number one choice for the fans as it was the only game receiving a three digits number of votes defeating Dante by 199 votes creating a buzz. Dante received 91 votes while Sora received 290 votes.

Square Enix wholeheartedly wanted Sora into the battle of the Smash Bros. Ultimate roster, but there has been no positive response from Disney.

In recent years quite a few Square Enix Characters including Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII have moved to the Smash Bros. stage and even introduced the Hero from Dragon Quest in the first Fighters Pass.

This made people think that Sora was going to take the place which was ultimately given to Hero.

But the fans are still keeping the faith as the slot for six more fighters are available in the second volume of the Fighters Pass DLC. Now it’s all up to Nintendo and Square to convince Disney to permit Sora in Smash Bros.
