NBA Playoffs: Portland Trail Blazers lags behind Golden State Warriors in WCF

According to NBA News, it is highly unlikely that Portland Trail Blazers will win the Western Conference Finals after the show they put out on the Game Three on Saturday night. They could’ve easily overcame the 0-2 lead by the opposition team but just like the five teams who had lost the same opportunity among the 72 teams with 0-2 trail, they lost the Game Three falling behind 0-3 leaving hardly any hope to win the series.

The team of Portland had taken the lead by as much as ten in the first half giving their fans a hope for winning the match. But it soon became a distant dream with a 29-27 deficit as Golden State Warriors cut the lead down after at 10-2.

The Portland Trail Blazers tried their best to make a comeback in the second half quickly gained the lead by 18 points with 2:28 to play. They achieved a 66-53 lead even though the Golden State came very close to cut down the gap before the second half ended.

Till halftime things were looking up for the Trail Blazers and they were optimistic to play at the remaining half with the same vigor as earlier.

The third half started with a positive vibe for the Blazers but soon everything fell apart. The last eight minutes of the quarter turned out to be very crucial for their future as Golden State took the lead with a remarkable 22-6. With this progress, the Warriors headed into the fourth with a lead of 82-79.

Even though Portland tried to close the gap by tying the game back with the first short in the half, they didn’t stand a chance in front of the Warriors in the fourth. The faced a devastating defeat by 11 points with a 110-99 deficit.

Draymond Green became the star of the day with a triple-double, 13 rebounds, 20 points, and 12 assists despite Steph Curry topped the scoreboard with 36 points. Klay Thompson managed hitting 8-2 and only one three-pointer but marking in 19.

For Portland C.J. McCollum scored 23 points and Damion Lillard managed 19 points causing a combined score of 5-19 from three-point range.

Game Four was held in Portland Monday night.
