The coronavirus pandemic has turned the whole world topsy-turvy but amidst everything the Washington U.S. President shares a ray of hope with the world. President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that the United States would have a coronavirus vaccine ready before the November 3 election which seemingly is a more optimistic forecast on timing than anything else that has been previously suggested by his own White House health experts.

When Trump was questioned on the Geraldo Rivera radio program about when the vaccine shall be ready, he said that the people can expect it sooner than the end of the year or it could be much sooner than that even.

When further questioned that is the date sooner than November 3, he said that in some cases it is very much possible that the vaccine comes out right around that time.

Afterward at the White House Trump said he was quite optimistic that a vaccine would be available around that date and when he was asked that whether or not this information would help him in the election, Trump replied that it wouldn’t hurt. However, he added that he has no self-interest behind this and neither is he doing this for the election, but just because he is concerned to save a lot of lives.

Trump who is now seeking re-election to a second term amidst the U.S. economy being crippled by the coronavirus shutdowns has now pushed for the schools to re-open and things to get back to their normal state. The coronavirus death count in the country, average at more than 1000 per day.

The top government health officials have stated that the corners would not be cut in the race to secure a vaccine against the virus.

In a Reuters interview on Wednesday, top U.S. government infectious disease official, Dr. Anthony Fauci offered a more conservative view had said that there might be an indication that at least one vaccine proves to be effective and is declared safe by the end of the year.

The news that the energetic race is geared up to develop a COVID-19 vaccine has intensified various safety concerns about an immunization that further prompts the governments and the drug makers to raise awareness to ensure that their efforts to beat the corona virus do not get derailed by public distrust.

On Thursday, Health Secretary Alex Azar denied that the push for a vaccine is in any way related to political affairs but he did not comment on anything on whether he believed that a vaccine could get ready before the day of Election.

He said that in the future he would take a corona virus vaccine that would be authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. On a statement released to MSNBC, he said that they are going to run a transparent process and the best thing that they could do for vaccine hesitancy is to ensure that the data is out there in front of all.

On Thursday, the democrats in the House of Representatives introduced legislation that would need the FDA to consult with a panel of experts to further ensure that a vaccine doesn’t get forced too fast. The Related Biological Products Advisory Committee, the panel, and the Vaccines are made up of experts from academia, government, and the industry.

Given the current situation, it is imperative that a quick vaccine is out but bill sponsor U.S. Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi said that it is even more important that the quality of the vaccine is not sacrificed for maintaining the speed in testing and that the vaccine must be evaluated properly.
