6 More Coronavirus Deaths Are Reported In Canada As The Number Of Cases Has Surpassed 127,000

In every province of Canada except for P.E.I, and its territories have recorded on Friday, new cases of a novel coronavirus, as it has raised the total number of infections in Canada above 127,000.

The numbers tally has increased by new cases of Covid-19 of 539, that have been released by the provincial health authorities. The numbers are from Friday, and there have been six more new deaths.

The total number of Covid-19 cases in Canada now stands in figure 127,288 and the death toll in the country has raised to 9108.

More than 113,200 patients have recovered from the deadly virus and that amounts to about 89 percent of the cases in Canada. The numbers of tests that have been administered are 6,257,967.

As per an update on Friday, Dr. Theresa Tam, the chief public health officer has pointed to the pandemic as one of the factors with an increase of drug-related deaths and overdoses.

In a press conference on Friday, Tam said that there have been instructions that the drug supply in streets is growing more toxic and unpredictable in various parts of the country as there is a disruption in the previous supply chains through border measures and travel restrictions during Covid-19.

The public health measures are typically designed so that the impact of Covid-19 is reduced and this could increase anxiety, stress, and isolation and puts quite a lot of strain on the support system of the person who is using the drugs.

There has been a sharp increase of overdose death according to Tam in British Columbia that has seen an increase of 136 percent over and above the number of deaths recorded last year in July.

Going by provinces, the highest daily increase in cases is recorded in Alberta on Friday with the new number of Covid-19 cases is 158 bringing the total number of infections to a staggering 13,476. In the province, no new deaths have been recorded.

122 new cases are reported in Ontario on Friday as the total number of provincial cases rose to 41,935. Six more deaths were recorded on Friday taking the tally of the death toll due to Covid-19 to 2,809.

Another 123 labs confirmed cases were added to the tally on Friday and it is the highest ever jump on a single day as the provincial total was raised to 5,426 cases.

The tally coming from the media outlets are only counting cases of the virus that are confirmed by the lab and are not including those that are epi-linked out of which there are a total of 70 cases across British Columbia.

The hardest-hit province in Canada is Quebec as 98 new cases are reported on Friday as the total confirmed cases are brought down to 62, 124. 32 new cases are also added in Manitoba as two new cases are recorded in both Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan.

The worldwide cases have already surpassed 24.6 million according to Johns Hopkins University. The number of deaths is 833,000 as both the number of cases and deaths are lead by the United States and Brazil.
