Mindy Kaling just dropped the update that we all needed right now like a breather on the Good Morning America on Tuesday, October 6 about her writing the third installment of Legally Blonde and revisiting Elle Woods, who is in her 40s now.

The former The Office actor was recruited as the writer of the sequel by Elle Woods herself, none other than Legally Blonde Star, Reese Witherspoon.

Kaing shared that she was initially nervous about the role because of the iconic statue of the movie. But then she thought to herself that seeing this character in her 40’s and what a woman of that age has to deal with every day should be fun. She said that she is really enjoying the writing and the script is in works with her friend Dan Goor. She has high hopes for the movie and for Witherspoon and everyone is going to love to see her honing the role yet again.

Reese had confirmed Legally Blonde 3 back in 2018 and Mindy recently shared how things have gone down during that time.

Mindy said that she has been close friends with Reese for quite some time now having worked with her on a couple of movies together. She admitted using various quotes from the movie during their conversations and called herself the annoying friend who would go on jetting out quotes like ‘Bend and snap’ to Reese. That was when Reese said that she would love to revisit the character of Elle Woods.

Witherspoon and Kaling have been co-stars in a Wrinkle in Time in 2018 with Oprah Winfrey and in 2019 in The Morning Show.

We cannot wait to see the collaboration between two of the most promising female artists of this generation.
