Zachor Legal Institute Submits Prosecution Request to US Department of Justice

(Switching Fashion Editorial):- Bozeman, Montana Jun 11, 2024 (Issuewire.com) – Zachor Legal Institute, a non-profit civil rights organization combating discrimination, has sent another prosecution request to the US Department of Justice. Zachor is once again asking the DOJ to investigate campus hate groups like Students for Justice in Palestine for depriving Jewish students of their constitutional and federally protected rights.

This request specifically relates to the deprivation of rights at MIT.

StandWithUs recently filed a lawsuit against MIT and our request builds on that lawsuit by asking the DOJ to impose criminal penalties on the hate groups that are directly depriving rights.

While the current DOJ shamefully ignores civil rights abuses against Jewish students, Zachor will continue to prepare these requests until action is taken.

More on Switching Fashion:

The situation only gets worse and the combination of private litigation and governmental criminal prosecutions is the most powerful way to combat the hate.

The DOJ currently is using the same laws that Zachor references to prosecute obstructive activity at abortion clinics and Zachor explains why the laws must be enforced on campuses as well.

As the prosecution request states,

Since the date of the March 25 Request, there has been no publicly announced action by the DOJ to enforce the same laws that have been used recently to prosecute those who have interfered with the operations of abortion clinics.

For example, on January 30, 2024, the Department of Justice announced the successful prosecution of individuals blocking access to abortion clinics.  That prosecution included charges against protesters who prevented individuals from using the services of the abortion clinic in violation of Section 241 of the Deprivation of Rights Laws.

The threats posed by the MIT Campus Groups are far greater than obstruction of access to abortion clinics, yet the DOJ does nothing to protect MIT’s Jewish students, faculty, and staff, notwithstanding exhaustive evidence that the MIT Campus Groups are blatantly depriving individuals and groups of constitutional and federally protected rights.

History has shown the results of government inaction in the face of rampant antisemitism. We are now living in a historical moment where the DOJ can take decisive action, using existing laws, to protect one of the most vulnerable groups in the country. It is critical that the DOJ act now and enforce the KKK Laws against the MIT Campus Groups.

A copy of the original request can be found on Zachor’s website and the current request can be found on Zachor’s LinkedIn page.
