It was a show-stealer scenario at the Tokyo Game Show this year, when a demo of the upcoming Final Fantasy VII remake was shown which featured Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith in a subterranean boss fight against the monster Abzu. It is informed to the fans that the Final Fantasy VII Remake’s Summon Magic Will Be Limited After All, According To The Game’s Developer.

We get to see game’s summon spells in use during the battle between opponents as Cloud summoned the mighty fire beast Ifrit to fight alongside him keeping shoulder to shoulder. So after summoning such magical huge monster as Cloud summoned the mighty fire beast Ifrit and it indulges in automatic battles for a particular time before vanishing once again. It was a huge departure from the original 1997 game’s summoning spells, which just like the game, was showed up, gave a massive attack to the audience, and then vanished.

At the game show when the demo of Final Fantasy VII remake was shown, a translation made from Japanese to English which many spectators found inaccurate. The diehard fans were quite disappointed when they heard that each summon will only used during boss battles. This was disheartening and puzzling for its fans as the previous games allowed them to use summon Materia in any battle.

Complaining about the translation issue while the demo, is nothing but fans’ concern. A video was posted on twitter, with a clip from an interview with Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase on the official page of the game, confirming hat summon spells will be situational in the game.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase said that they wanted to amaze the audience with a glimpse where Ifrit was summoned at TGS this year. The players can summon Materia and it will give a tough fight against powerful enemies and in special situations. The player can control over summon command and call monster will appear in the battlefield. He spoke about the usage of how the summons works.

He Said once it is summoned, it appears in the battlefield for a particular set of time and fights automatically. You then be the in-charge of cloud but Ifrit will fight by your side for a while. Summons gives you superpowers to perform some extremely powerful attacks and tough fight throughout the game.

He fears that it will break the flow from the traditional gameplay of the original late 90s show. All characters can sadly only summon Materia for one time. It is still unsure whether you can get multiple usages to summon spells by chaining up with multiple players. What interesting is that the summon system of The Final Fantasy VII Remake is more like it is in Square’s Final Fantasy XV, where the players have to pay attention and save the attempts to summon only once in the required battle. It is getting released on the PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
