After ‘This Is Us’ aired their Season 4 finale last month it has generated a lot of questions in the fans’ mind. The relationship between Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) seems a bit questionable as the couple broke up after Kate gave birth to their son Jack since then Toby started losing weight at the local CrossFit gym.

The reason for this drifting apart is at the recent episode of ‘So Long, Marianne’ which aired on November 19th Kate saw a text message on Toby’s phone which implied that he has been discussing the problem of their relationship with one of his gym buddies instead of directly talking with Kate. And, to add more spice to the flames, Toby appeared to chat with a female.

The message seems that the girl is asking Toby to not to put his moral esteem down for Kate.

It is undoubtedly that Toby loves Kate, but what concerning their fans is that they are taking two different roads. For now, Toby is making a huge transformation of lifestyle at the gym, while Kate keeps herself busy to meet with the new struggles and challenges of being the mother of a child.

Toby seems ignorant about his future with Kate as he keeps himself engaged with his weight-loss program. And, their difficulties in affinity has already been taken into a note as what happens mostly with first-time parents. But in this case, it seems the couple is not fighting with their problems together, as they are appearing to be falling apart.

Kate has done a confession to Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) that she can’t recognize this CrossFit Toby and Toby was furious with Kate’s wrong information about Jack’s first bite of food. But, for Kate, it is impossible, to be honest with Toby at this juncture of their relationship.

With this photograph, a few things seem strange by the fans that do this conversation has any relation with the text message what Kate saw on Toby’s phone? Is he asking her to give him another chance? Or, is he telling her he still wants some time?

It’s not comprehensible that at what juncture in the Pearson family timeline that this discussion has takes place. However, there have been some glimpses from the previous episodes which show that the future is not dazzling for the couple.
