As it seems that there’s more than what meets the eye with more game play details on Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla being revealed by select developer interviews.

Ashraf Ismail who is the Creative Director behind the franchise’s reawakening with Assassin’s Creed Origins in 2017, is back with yet another rudder to stir titled Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

As per the latest reports, during an interview with the Australian websites Press Start, Ashraf Ismail has reportedly told the folks that the upcoming installment will give out a very different experience to the players when it comes to RPG mechanics. This means Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Takes On A New Style Of RPG Mechanics With An Advanced Combat System. For example, the game will show no more traditional levels.

Ashraf Ismail gave out quite some details during the interview where he said that in terms of RPG and progression, their goal is to bring in a kind of refreshing new take on it. He shared on they wish to come up with something that is much more anchored into the world itself and the concepts of skills, and so on. He also revealed how they have taken a completely different approach in creating the new one which is quite different from the previous ones, with the hope of actually making the Viking experience shine out a bit more.

And, therefore as an example, they have charted his giant skill graph which is a huge skill tree where the players can customize the kind of Viking that they would want to play as. He expects that the people would get to see a lot more playstyle customization within the game. The Director disclosed that their main angle is to let the players kind of enjoy the experience of the game, the way they want, mainly in terms of the RPG progression.

It is quite clear that a lot of effort has been put into these skills. He also said on how they have the return of abilities but of course, all the capabilities are anchored, rooted, and very Viking themed which they have gotten rid of the idea of levels as well. Ashraf added on how the players can now have the power which means that power is something that remains rooted in the skill set of the hero. Therefore based on the skills that the players get to learn through the process, they gain strength, and hence there has been a shift in the way the developers have handled RPG and progression to make it more play style centered and keeps the focus on what the players out there want to do in the game.

Ashraf Ismail also added that the combat would be intuitive and much brutal in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla to ramp out the Viking feeling and setting to put in place for the gamers.

He spoke on how the combat system has been thoroughly reinvigorated to display the visceral newness and the brutality of the period of the weaponry of warfare held during the ninth century. And, so a lot of effort has been put into assuring that the whole thing makes quite an impact. He also revealed how they have made bearded axes, Dane axes, and flails, but now in this, they have also included the dual-wielding capacity to ensure that the players can combine any two weapons in their hands.

Therefore this means, that the gamers can now dual wield two axes, two swords, and even two shields if they want to, which shows the flexibility of the system. There is another third element that helps to combat improvement which is the effort they have put into the variety of enemies that use incredibly unique as they use the environment and also one another against then hero.

Ashraf confirmed how they wanted to make sure that if the players had been playing for 15-20 hours they can still enjoy and experience the raw stuff that they have never seen before and this quite effectively proves a whole lot of effort that has gone into the enemy side of combat.

The Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is scheduled to get its launch on PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, and also PlayStation 5 during this holiday season.
