It has been a long rollercoaster ride for the pair, Dolly Parton and Carl Dean as they have lived up to their expectation for the last 54 years. After staying together through the thick and thin for more than five decades, Dolly opened up about her falling marriage in an interview, joking that her husband might be ‘sick of’ her as well.

Dolly Parton can’t stop joking about her relationship with her husband Carl Thomas Dean saying that they are sick of each other after spending almost a lifetime.

The country singer of 74 years walked the aisle with her husband, 78-year-old Carl Thomas, back in 1966. They maintained to keep their marriage out of the public eyes, alluring ado in their private married life.

She recently appeared on Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast where she exposed some fun facts about her love for Carl Thomas Dean. Talking about marriage goals, suddenly she dropped the bomb saying, ‘My husband and I have been together for 57 years and married for 54, and I’m sick of him and I’m sure he’s sick of me.’

According to Dolly Parton, Carl is a very private person where hates to be under the spotlight with his wife. He hardly goes out with his wife to glamorous ceremonies or ushers her to the award shows. He prefers his privacy very much. She even said once that her husband came to see her performance only once in the last 57 years.

When Jessie Ware pushes her to talk about her vices in life, Dolly admitted: ‘My weaknesses have always been men, sex and food and not necessarily in that order.’

She clearly spoke about the three things that matter the most in her life and that doesn’t include her husband.

Though the joke was quite funny, she made sure that the world knows how hopelessly they are in love in this long journey.

Dolly was only 20 years old when she tied the knot with Carl. Fans have taunted that Carl doesn’t really exist in the industry since he has kept it so private.

In the previous interview with Entertainment Tonight, she mentioned, “[Carl’s] a quiet, reserved person and he figured if he ever got out there in that, he’d never get a minute’s peace and he’s right about that.”

Telling her fans why she loves him so much, Dolly said. “I’ve always respected and appreciated that in him and I’ve always tried to keep him out of the limelight as much as I can. He said, ‘I didn’t choose this world, I chose you, and you chose that world. But we can keep our lives separate and together.’ And we do and we have.”

Away from the spotlights, Dolly and Carl arrange cute date nights whenever it’s possible. While celebrating their 50th marriage anniversary, she wore a beautiful white gown.
