The latest Netflix release based on the book series of Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher has received mixed reviews, mostly positive.

One of the reasons behind the success of the show is considered to be the strong performance of Henry Cavill as the lead protagonist Geralt of Rivia. It is one of the three main characters of CD Projekt Red’s video game series. Most of the people have been eager to know about the reaction of the author of the book series.

The Witcher author is ‘more than happy’ with Henry Cavill’s performance in Netflix show as he stated, ‘I was more than happy with Henry Cavill’s appearance as The Witcher,” Sapkowski told People. “He’s a real professional. Just as Viggo Mortensen gave his face to Aragorn [in The Lord of the Rings] , so Henry gave his to Geralt — and it shall be forever so.’

People had criticized the decision of casting Henry for the part of Geralt of Rivia. But, the viewers now know that how strongly Henry has performed.

The fans wanted the creators to cast the Game of Thrones fame Nikolaj Coster-Waldau for the role of Geralt of Rivia. Of course, the on-screen Jamie Lannister would have been a good choice, but Henry has proved his worth as well.

Henry had mentioned his love for the video game series that led him to the book series. And, when he had come to know that Netflix was looking to a show out of the book, he made his agent reach out to the platform about giving him the role of Geralt. So, according to his statement, it seems that he has invested a lot into the role.

Before the release of the first season, the streaming platform had announced for a second season. The fans are eager to watch the next season but as of now, none knows about the release date but one can expect it to get released next December.

At this moment, the complete season, consisting of eight episodes, is available on Netflix. Each of the episodes is almost an hour long and features Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer, and Ciri.
